The Department of Fisheries, Government of India in collaboration with MyGov is organizing a Photography Contest from September 11 to October 11, 2023, in an online mode.

About Department of Fisheries, India

The Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, and Dairying is a ministry of the Government of India that is responsible for matters related to fisheries, animal husbandry, and dairying. The ministry came into existence on May 31, 2019, after the formation of the Second Modi ministry. Prior to becoming an independent ministry, the ministry was a department under the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare.

About the Contest

The Department of Fisheries, in collaboration with MyGov, is excited to announce its upcoming photography contest, which aims to celebrate the enchanting and vital aquatic ecosystems that contribute to the world’s biodiversity and sustainability.

This contest is open to all photography enthusiasts who are passionate about marine life, freshwater habitats, and the intricate relationships within these ecosystems.

Participants are encouraged to capture the inherent beauty and significance of aquatic ecosystems. By capturing stunning visuals of marine life, underwater landscapes, and the delicate balance of nature, participants will help raise awareness about the importance of preserving these ecosystems for future generations.

  • Theme 1: Biodiversity in the Fisheries Sector.

Eligibility Criteria

  • The contest is open to all Indian citizens.
  • Entry can be as an Individual or a Team (maximum five members) with only one entry to be accepted. In case of multiple entries, the first entry submitted will be regarded as the final submission.

Prizes

  • First prize: Rs 5,000.
  • Second prize: Rs 3,000.
  • Third prize: Rs 2,000.

Note: Cash prizes and a certificate of participation will be provided by the Ministry of Fisheries, India.

Submission Guidelines

  • Entry must be submitted in clear and downloadable JPG/PNG/PDF format only and Image size should be up to 2MB.
  • The entry should not have been previously published in any other media.
